M-Class Printhead Replacement
Before attempting printhead replacement, power off and unplug the printer from the wall outlet. Wait at least 15 minutes after unplugging to begin procedure. Do not plug printer back in until the new printhead is installed.

STEP 1: Locate the printhead retention screw in the printhead housing assembly. It is located between the two green printhead pressure adjustment screws.

Loosen this screw with a flathead screwdriver (screw will not come out). When replacing the printhead, do not overtighten this screw.

STEP 2: Once the printhead retention screw is loosened completely, the printhead may be removed. Pull the printhead toward1 the front of the assembly and down2. This will give enough room to pull the printhead down and out enough to reveal the two wiring connectors.
STEP 3: Care should be taken when removing the printhead connectors.

Pull the connectors away from the printhead using a gentle side-to-side rocking motion.

STEP 4: Attach cable connectors to the new printhead.

Be sure to align the slots in the printhead with the pins on the printhead assembly. There are two printhead alignment pins located on the printhead assembly, one on each side.
FINAL STEP: When replacing the printhead, simply reverse steps 1-3 above. Holding the printhead in place from underneath, simply tighten the retention screw on top of the assembly.

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
the printhead retaining screw when replacing the printhead. Just "snug" it up
.

After installing the new printhead, be sure to clean it with a clean isopropyl alcohol cloth/wipe before use.

If print quality is poor after installing the new printhead, please give us a call. Occasionally the printhead will need minor adjustment after replacement.
